Looking Ahead

Little Pirate Pantry Merges with Purple Pantry

The Little Pirate Pantry, ECU’s dedicated parent supply pantry, will be merging with the Williams-Ross Purple Pantry to create a more comprehensive and accessible resource for students in need. This merger will expand services, allowing the University to better serve parenting students by providing essential supplies alongside the food and basic needs resources already offered through the Purple Pantry. By bringing these two initiatives together, the Dean of Students Office is working to ensure that parenting students have a single, convenient point of access for the support they need to balance the demands of academics and parenthood.

Ambassador Initiative

The ECU Ambassadors celebrated 45 years as an organization this year and took on a new role as Involvement Ambassadors with a focus on supporting transfer students as they connect to campus life.  In this expanded capacity, ambassadors provided outreach and guidance on student involvement opportunities, campus resources, and events, including athletics.

Throughout the year, the ambassadors sent nearly 10,000 emails and conducted 26 in-person meetings to help students engage more fully in the university community.

Beginning in Fall 2026, the program will expand its outreach to include all new students to campus, further strengthening early engagement and connection to campus life.
