Career Captain
Career Services introduced and implemented two Career Captain cohorts, engaging a total of 24 faculty and staff members. This invitation-only initiative equips participants with tools, knowledge, and direct collaboration with Career Services to better support student career development. The program fosters a network of campus champions who integrate career readiness into their daily interactions with students.

Project Clear
Project Clear (Communication, Linkage, Education, Response) is a collaborative initiative involving the Dean of Students Office, ECU Police Department, Title IX Office, Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities, Center for Counseling and Student Development, Student Health Services, Women and Gender Center, and ECU students. The project was designed to strengthen sexual assault response education, communication, and support processes across the university.
Centering the student experience, participants were guided through the reporting and support process from a survivor-centered perspective. Through structured role-playing scenarios with multiple campus partners, students and staff examined each stage of response, evaluating the clarity of information provided as well as the emotional, academic, and personal impacts on students throughout the process.
This cross-campus collaboration extended beyond the Division of Student Affairs, ensuring that each office’s role in the response process was evaluated collectively. Student feedback was gathered throughout the initiative, providing direct insight that has informed improvements in communications, coordination, and support services.
Project Clear reflects ECU’s commitment to continuous improvement, interdepartmental collaboration, and student-informed practice, with the goal of ensuring that every student navigating a difficult experience feels informed, supported, and heard.

FluFest
For the fifth consecutive year, Student Health Services and Campus Recreation and Wellness partnered to host FluFest, an annual initiative designed to increase access to flu vaccinations by bringing services directly to the campus community. Students, staff, faculty, and community members were invited to attend the event, which combines flu vaccinations with engaging activities, snacks, and wellness resources.
FluFest is supported through collaboration with ECU Pharmacy and the College of Nursing, strengthening a campus-wide approach to preventive health. The event also provides community health nursing students with valuable hands-on experience to strengthen their skills in an active community health setting.
In addition, the Student Government Association contributes to the initiative by distributing wellness kits to students ahead of peak flu season, further promoting prevention and overall campus well-being.
